| Article number: kb-5 | Q. I just registered a domain name. How do I setup a website?
A. When you register a domain, the registration is just to own the domain "name" itself for a certain period of time.
If you want to have a website, you need a webhost, or hosting package.
If you already have an existing site, you can also use URL forwarding to direct your new domain to that site.
If you do not already have an existing web site that you can redirect your domain name to, then you will need to obtain a web host.
A Web Host creates DNS records on their name servers that will allow your domain to resolve on the Internet. They usually provide you with a primary and secondary name server. When you receive these name servers you must log into your account at CircleRDomains.com and change your name servers.
For instructions on changing your name servers see the topic "Nameservers."
The webhost also provides the space on their servers for your website to reside. This is where you would upload your webpages, and update them when needed.
If you are interested in purchasing webhosting, we recommend LunarPages web hosting
Once you have web hosting, you can begin designing your website using either web design software, online web publishing tools that a host may provide, or even a simple text editor like windows notepad.
